Call for stereotypes...

If by any chance I have any non-French reader(s), I'd be quite grateful for any stereotypes they have about the French in order to see what is real, and what is not in an article to come.

Merci !

French love to smoke cigarettes

they are very proud of their language, so they just dont want to learn another language. They are not very friendly. They are well-dressed, and look good.

I know this one girl who said when her grandma was at the airport there, she couldn't speak French and she couldn't find her baggage and the French people who worked there WOULDN'T help her AT ALL! Just because she couldn't speak French. And another said that they were in a shop and they tried to speak French but the person had too much of an English accent, so the guy said, (snobbishly...hey I wasn't there, this is just what I heard) "I speak English, you know!" So, the next shop she went to she just tried to speak English straight away, and the shopkeeper ignored her! It was the same every time (or so she said). I went to France and found everybody really friendly. Like you said, I know that there are really nasty people everywhere, but I don't really remember the visit considering it was about 10 years ago! Oh, and crepes are AMAZING! As are croissants and any other French food. I love all French cheeses that I've tried too. Especially the moldy ones! ;) I tried snails, but they're not my thing.
